It's been a hard day's night...

...And BC will be working like a dog... This weekend, that is! Berry Chill will be present at many events this weekend and we wanted to share our whereabouts with you!

This Friday, July 10th, we will be serving Berry Chill at Kennedy College for Common Threads from 12-2 p.m. Common Threads is a foundation premised upon educating children about the importance of nutrition and physical well-being. At Berry Chill, we care about you and the world in which you live in. The mission of Common Threads falls perfectly in line with our concern for healthy nutrition and, thus, a healthier environment.

Following our culinary enhancing visit, we will be serving at the 2009 ISCD Texas Hold’em Tournament at the Hard Rock Hotel located at 230 North Michigan Avenue. For those of you who aren't familiar with ISCD, the acronym stands for The Israel Sports Center for The Disabled. Doors open for the event at 5:30 p.m. and BC will be there until 9:00 p.m. All the proceeds from the night will go toward the Preschool Program at the Israel Sports Center for the Disabled. If you are interested in the event, or would just like to further familiarize yourself with the foundation, Click here for more info!

To Health, Happiness, and the Pursuit of Saving Money!

At Berry Chill, we know how equally important being green and saving some green are to our customers. Also, your health and well-being is our top priority. That's one of the many reasons why we teamed up with Zipcar to participate in their annual Low-Car Diet! We are looking for 30 local participants who are up for a challenge. A challenge that never tasted so good!

With the participation of Equinox, Ortanic, Halo, and lululemon, Zipcar and Berry Chill are offering a comprehensive approach to changing the way in which you live your life. A membership to Equinox, airbrush tans at Ortanic, pampering at Halo, stretching your limbs at lululemon, cruising around in a car provided by ZipCar, and, at the end of the day, treating yourself to some BC- who wants in? If you're up for the challenge, apply now! Click here

Sing Along With Us!

For all of our Berry Chill addicts out there who just can't go a mere 24 hours without their fix...our cart is parked at the Ravinia Festival this year! With all the great musical acts this year, we are more than delighted to add to your enjoyable experience. Treat your ears to quality music, your taste buds to a healthy and tasty treat, and your eyes to an array of toppings! Yogi sure is jealous of our Ravinia BC visitors...

P.S.- The above photos are of the BC cart when it first arrived to Ravinia, but we upgraded, and moved it by the carousel!

Let's Get Fit!

Over the past decade, fitness has taken on a whole new meaning. It's no longer just associated with hitting the gym and what you eat- it's about HOW you look and less about FEELING good. If that wasn't enough, we all have to factor in the current status of our economy. With that being said, all of us at Berry Chill sincerely want to help make lifestyles changes less of a fantasy and more of a reality!

We are teaming up with Zipcar, Chicago's largest car sharing service, to participate in this year's Low-Car Diet! This is a great opportunity for Chicagoans to experience all the benefits of living car-free and instead, opt for a healthier and more active lifestyle. Zipcar and Berry Chill are searching for 30 local contestants who will pledge to live car-free and take on a healthier lifestyle for one month beginning July 15th. With the participation of Equinox, Ortanic, Halo salons, and lululemon, Berry Chill will be making sure that you stay healthy (adding in a daily dose of our chilled yogurt doesn't hurt either...) Can you think of an easier way to make AND stick to a mid-year resolution?

Stay tuned dear readers. Yogi will post most info asap. Who's interested?!

The power of Twitter

As most of you know, Yogi is a social media fiend and this past week Twitter began buzzing with word that Peter Shankman, a "social media CEO adventurist" or in other words an "entrepreneur, author, speaker, and worldwide connector" (www.shankman.com) would be in town making a special stop at Berry Chill on 635 N. State today, July 2nd at 10 a.m. And boy were we pleasantly surprised when we saw the turn out this morning! Charismatic and generous (he treated the entire crowd!), we are delighted that he wanted to share with the crowd his expertise as well as with a nutritious treat this morning.

Yogurt Social

Hi all! Yesterday Berry Chill teamed up with the Imerman Angels Foundation to participate in their monthly ice cream social at Prentice Memorial Hospital. Just to give you all a little background information, Imerman Angels is a not-for-profit organization that connects a person fighting cancer today with someone who has beaten the same type of cancer. They provide support to cancer fighters and survivors across the United States and will never turn anyone down.

We also wanted to take this opportunity to thank the gracious volunteers and express our utter awe of their inner strength. The energy of the volunteers lifted the spirits of everyone at the ice cream social and we cannot wait for next month!
